The Erum group is involved in a new project developed within the CdTI ‘individual with company’ category, in which the company PLASTICOS ERUM S.L. and AIMPLAS is taking part as the Research Technology Centre.
This national project is known as WPC-GAS and consists of manufacturing wood plastic composite hangers using gas assisted injection technology. These products are kinder to the environment.
One of the aims of the project is to decrease generation of plastic waste, while producing hangers that contain smaller quantities of plastic material while maintaining the characteristics required for final use.
On the other hand, using WPC makes the product cheaper because it requires smaller amounts of conventional resins combined with lower-cost wood fibre. The use of these materials produces surface finishes similar to wood, which gives the hangers an attractive appearance.
When the project finishes, the Erum group will have the opportunity to supply products with clear added value, which will contribute to its own customers’ environmental strategies.
