Automotive plastic parts: technical precision injection.
Working toward more responsible mobility
Circular Thinking for critical environments
At Erum Group, we develop and manufacture technical plastic parts for the automotive industry: interior and exterior components, lighting systems, precision parts, and gas-assisted injection for OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers.
From design to mass production, with the standards of reliability, precision, and regulatory compliance that the sector demands.
Manufacturers of automotive plastic parts: advanced technical capabilities
In the automotive sector, experience is not declared: it is demonstrated in every tolerance, every batch, and every validation.
What we manufacture:
- Optical and lighting components: headlights, taillights, diffusers, and interior lighting elements with advanced optical properties and compliance with approval regulations
- Gas-assisted injection (GIM): large-format parts and complex geometries with weight reduction and material savings
- Technical interior parts: panels, moldings, trims, housings, and functional components with Class A finishes
- Technical exterior parts: bumpers, mirror housings, aerodynamic elements, and structural components
- Precision components: parts with strict tolerances for safety applications or electrical and electronic systems
Automotive lighting: high-precision optical components
In automotive optical components, transparency is not just aesthetic; it is a fundamental technical requirement.
Lighting systems, headlights, taillights, diffusers, and light guides must guarantee optimal light transmission, stability over time, and resistance to extreme conditions throughout the vehicle’s life cycle.
We manufacture optical components using high-transparency technical materials (PC, PMMA) under controlled injection processes that guarantee optical homogeneity, absence of flow marks, and batch-to-batch repeatability.
Technical requirements we cover:
- UV stability: resistance to yellowing and degradation due to solar exposure
- Thermal resistance: dimensional stability in extreme temperature cycles
- Optical homogeneity: absence of flow marks, bubbles, and transmittance variations
- Compliance with approval regulations for lighting components
Automotive plastic parts with recycled material: circularity applied to critical processes
Circularity in the automotive industry is not just a matter of materials; it is a process and documentation challenge.
At Erum Group, we manufacture automotive plastic parts with certified recycled material when the component’s technical specifications allow it. Recycled content is verified under GRS and UNE-EN 15343, and the documentation is directly usable in the OEM’s ESG reporting.
What we guarantee in every production run:
- Repeatability and precision: statistical process control (SPC) and parameter recording
- Waste minimization: optimized process with real-time monitoring
- Full traceability: from raw material to finished part, including recycled content
Technical partner for OEMs and Tier-1s: from co-development to mass production
We move in the same direction.
At Erum Group, we integrate into the client’s ecosystem as a technological and industrial partner, not just a parts supplier. The collaboration model covers the entire development cycle:
How we work with OEMs and Tier-1s:
- Co-development: participation from the concept phase, material selection, DFM (Design for Manufacturing), and technical validation
- Prototyping and validation: pilot series for process, dimensional, and functional validation before approval
- Industrialization: process transfer, PPAP, and production qualification according to client standards
- Mass production: JIT deliveries and integrated quality control
- Continuous optimization: process improvement, cost reduction, and value analysis during the life of the program
Certifications and regulations: the standards required by the automotive industry
In the automotive sector, certifications are not a differentiator; they are the minimum condition to enter the supplier approval process.
Active certifications:
- IATF 16949: specific quality management system for the automotive industry
- ISO 9001: quality management system
- ISO 14001: environmental management system
- GRS (Global Recycled Standard): certified recycled content in production materials
- UNE-EN 15343: traceability of recycled plastic
Product regulations we cover:
- ELV Directive: compliance with recyclability and recoverability targets
- Substance restrictions: REACH, RoHS, and equivalent client regulations
- Approval regulations for lighting components
Frequently asked questions about automotive plastic parts
What types of automotive plastic parts do you manufacture?
We manufacture technical plastic parts for vehicle interiors and exteriors: lighting components (headlights, taillights, diffusers), interior parts with Class A finishes, exterior components, and precision parts. We work with standard injection and gas-assisted injection (GIM) for large-format parts or complex geometries.
Do you work under IATF 16949 standards?
We operate under the quality standards required by the automotive industry. To confirm the current status of IATF 16949 certification and the specific requirements of your program, please contact our technical team.
Can you participate from the co-development (DFM) phase?
Yes. The collaboration model can start from the concept phase: material selection, DFM analysis, mold flow simulation, and technical validation before tool opening.
What is gas-assisted injection (GIM) and what applications is it suitable for?
Gas-assisted injection (Gas Injection Moulding) injects pressurized gas into the part during the cycle to create hollow areas. It allows for the manufacture of large-format or thick-section parts with weight reduction, material savings, and no sink marks. It is especially suitable for handles, dashboard structures, guides, and internal frame parts.
